Ingredients
  

Cake Batter

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 can crushed pineapple with juice 20 oz

Glaze

  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour and sugar.
  • Add eggs, vanilla, and entire can of pineapple with juice. Mix until combined.
  • Pour batter into baking dish and bake 35–40 minutes, until golden and set.
  • Meanwhile, combine evaporated milk, sugar, and butter in a saucepan. Bring to a gentle boil for 2–3 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  • Poke holes in hot cake, then pour glaze over top.
  • Let sit 20 minutes before serving.

Notes

Best enjoyed warm or chilled. Store leftovers in the fridge. Add coconut flakes or pecans for texture.
