Main Ingredients

  • 4 honey garlic sausages sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 red bell pepper chopped
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 cup long grain white rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • chopped green onion or parsley optional

Instructions
 

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced sausage and brown on both sides, 5–6 minutes.
  • Add onion, garlic, and bell pepper. Cook for 3–4 minutes until softened.
  • Stir in rice, broth, soy sauce, and honey. Bring to a gentle boil.
  • Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer 18–20 minutes until rice is cooked.
  • Stir in peas, cover for 5 minutes, then fluff with a fork.
  • Garnish with green onions or parsley if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

Use any brand of honey garlic sausage. Adjust liquid if using brown rice. Freezes well in portions for up to 3 months.
