One Pot Beef and Broccoli

This quick and cozy one-pot beef and broccoli dish is packed with flavor and perfect for busy weeknights. Serve it over rice or noodles for a complete meal.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch plus 2 tbsp water for slurry
  • Cooked rice or noodles for serving
  • sesame seeds optional, for garnish
  • green onions optional, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add sliced beef and sear for 2–3 minutes per side. Remove from pan.
  • In the same pan, sauté onion, garlic, and ginger until fragrant (1–2 minutes).
  • Add beef broth, soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Stir and bring to a simmer.
  • Add broccoli and cook for 4–5 minutes until tender.
  • Stir in cornstarch slurry and return beef to the pan. Simmer 2–3 minutes until thickened.
  • Serve over rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.

Notes

For freezer storage, cool completely before transferring to containers.
Swap in tamari for a gluten-free version.
Try adding red pepper flakes for extra heat.
